We are very excited to bring Clubbell Yoga to Denver, Colorado this September. The seminar will be held at Project Move, owned by a husband and wife team. Steven, the owner of Project Move, is a Chiropractor and Medical Director for Rock Tape, and his wife Robyn Capobianco is a well known yoga teacher and contributor to Yoga Journal (see below). VIP registration for this event ends May 1st, get your deposit in ASAP via Scheduled Events.
Clubbell Yoga seminars are in high demand internationally, and only a few trainings are offered in the United States each year. If you are considering adding Clubbell Yoga to your toolbox, class schedule or personal training sessions, make sure to put your deposit down before May 1st to secure your spot. Looking forward to building our tribe of likeminded fitness and movement professionals in Colorado this Fall. Mark your calendars this is an event you won't want to miss.
The Clubbell Yoga tribe was strong in NYC this time around. Like really, really strong - maybe even unapologetically strong (Jen Sinkler quote there...). I am continually impressed every single time Clubbell Yoga fusion returns to New York. It attracts some seriously inspiring people from this industry, and truly bridges the gap between strength and yoga.
Day one, I met lead ambassador Brie Helmuth (pictured third from left in pic below) to get prepped for the whirlwind of a week ahead. Since Brie became certified just three years ago, she has brought Clubbell Yoga Cert Prep and Primal 12 workshops to Kettlebell gyms, UFC Gyms and her breakdancing community. Not to mention her Clubbell Yoga training inspired her to become TACFIT, Clubbell Athletics and FlowFit certified, which really sets her apart in the world of personal training. She is my right hand woman when in the big city, and we feed off of each other’s drive, motivation and passion for movement.
Day two: I brought some Clubbells past security up to the 37th floor of the World Trade Towers to meet with Self Magazine Editors and Social Media Specialists. We spent an hour talking about how Clubbell Yoga started, our new program Primal 12, where CBY is taught (US, London, Spain, Australia, Budapest, South Africa and more), and most importantly... how it can enhance athletic performance. The SELF team asked me to strike a pose for their Instagram and Snapchat accounts, so of course I obliged and invited them to our morning practice at the seminar. Look for Clubbell Yoga workouts in Self Magazine’s online programming in the near future, as this fusion is recognized to be uniquely different than any other workout on the market. Mind body practice at its best, with serious toning and conditioning capabilities.
Day Three: Kettlebell Coach and Co-owner of Art of Strength in New Jersey, Valerie and her business partner Lisa hosted a mini-workshop for their crew. We did a HIIT class, rocking the "AMRAP in 15" timing protocol. All exercises emphasized twisting or yaw. By halfway through, the class was sweating bullets. By the time they got to their Practice section (weighted Vinyasa flow) they had pushed themselves right up to their edge. We gauged heart rate at the end of the circuit and people maintained roughly 75% of their HR max for the entire circuit, very impressive. Savasana was well deserved, and Brie mentioned that it was the best savasana she has ever had. I snuck in a little yoga nidra (yoga sleep) in there...
Next Came the seminar, and I got to meet the Minneapolis Muppets!~ A nickname, nationally recognized blogger and fitness expert Jen Sinkler gave her crew. They truly represented at this seminar, with a total of 4 power lifting strength coaches and yogis from Movement Minneapolis. Others came from Philly, Jersey, London, and Canada. This was a more dominantly feminine Clubbell Yoga seminar than I have ever had, we had only one token male trainer (a freshly minted Clubbell Athletics instructor). A big contrast from the predominantly male turnout in Chicago, and the 50:50 male to female ration in Bellingham. The group bonded almost instantly, and our lectures, workouts, programming and breakdowns were extremely engaging and well received.
Laughs were had. Bodies were sore. The usual feedback of ‘this seminar should be longer’ was stated by pretty much everyone. I always tell everyone it is better to be overwhelmed than underwhelmed at a seminar. Plus all techniques can be found in the supporting programs, Primal 12 and Clubbell Yoga. The magical recipes for Class design are found in the extensive, 130+ page manuals that all candidates received. The manuals are fool proof. Everyone left with 8 unique classes, designed and ready to go. All candidates are required to volunteer teach their first eight classes, and critiqued on their teaching skills via video submission and review. See Scheduled Events on our website for 2015 Seminars.
Mark your calendars for these US Events:
I always love going back to New York, because that’s where I got my creative inspiration to bridge the gap between strength and yoga. Manhattan is home to some of my absolute favorite yoga gurus, Dharma Mittra my personal favorite. So much inspiration came from studio hopping, and studying with the best of the best. I still remember shooting my first Clubbell Yoga youtube videos there, totally DIY style. Never would have imagined those videos would have helped me be able to create a new body of work, train trainers around the world and inspire people to find a greater mind body connection through yoga. But the universe has endless possiblilities in store if we get out of our own way, let go of fear and believe in ourselves our passions and attract positive people to our tribe. See you in London and Spain next month. Feeling blessed, grateful and content.
